Application to register a Patent: In this form, you have to include all the details of the Inventor, invention, the type of Patent Application filed, the title of the invention, and a declaration from the inventor and his signature.

Complete/Provisional Specification: The inventor must include the information for the type of Application, description, the title of the invention, claims, abstract of the invention.

Undertaking and statement: An undertaking and statement on behalf of the inventor must be submitted for updating the Controller for any foreign filing patent application filed for Patent registration in Gujarat or other parts of the country.

Declaration as to Inventorship: A declaration as to Inventorship must be filed in the Indian Patent Office.

Form for authorization of a Patent Agent: In the case where the inventor is taking aid from a Patent Attorney in Gujarat for the services of Patent drafting and other patent-related chores, you must file a form of authorization in the Indian Patent Office.

To be submitted by a small entity/start-up (optional): To take benefit under the category of small entity/start-up, any proof or evidence needs to be submitted. At last, all the Forms, documents or Drawings must be signed by the inventor or the authorized person.

Publication of Patent Application in the Official Gazette: Once the Patent Application has fulfilled the requirements, the consequent step will be that it must be published by the IPO after Eighteen months in the Official Gazette of the IPO for the Public. Publication of Patent Application is an automatic process and will happen automatically once you have fulfilled the requirements for patent registration in Gujarat.

Filing of Request for Examination:

Once the publication of the patent application is out, the inventor or the authorized person must file a request to the controller to examine the Patent Application. The examination is done only after receiving the request.

Issuance of objection(s) in the Examination Report:

The applicant has a buffer time of six months for submitting the reply to the Examination report. Once the reply to the examination report is submitted the Controller grants the Patent if satisfied. 

Patent grant: In case your patent application meets the prescribed criteria and fulfils all the requirements for Patent Registration, the Patent is granted by the Controller, published in the Official Gazette of the Indian Patent Office.
